Fishin up date 08/27/16

Grouper doing a flip flop a Major turn around in the grouper world occurred this week,
as Red grouper who have been out in 100 feet of water have changed position and are now heavily populated in 40 to 50 feet of water.
This is a radicle change of position for the Grouper and as they are “RED” grouper this may have something to do with Russian influence,
Now that is just a rumor.
Many of the people running way out to find Red grouper and having no luck have turned back to the shallower waters to find the Snapper bite,
which is still very good and then, Surprise Grouper keeper sizes even.
Could 2016 get any more weird.

i constantly read these fishing reports and i listen to the radio broadcast. i have only lived in this area for 4 months. i read things on here and try them on the water but i fish from a kayak 75% of the time. i have had luck but not a lot of luck. well today i was up near el jobean bridge. we had nothing but catfish all morning so we moved up into the river to check it out. we had no luck up there. so we decided to try a hole south of the bridge. and we caught 100 catfish in 1 hour. well i had not large bait so i decided to cut the head off one catfish and use the body as bait. my father said to me i would like to see a fish eat that big hunk of bait. not 20 mins later my reel starts screaming and i set the hook and a tarpon every bit of 150-200lb size jumps out of the water. im not exaggerating the size biggest fish i have ever had on the end of my line. well he snapped 80lb line i wasent ready for it and i honestly didnt expect to hook anything. so i rigged up again and 20 mins later another tarpon but he was less than 100 id guess around 70-80 lbs but he threw the hook after about a 5 min fight. im addicted now!!!!!!!!!!!!
